About Bad Dog

Bad Dog is a micro business located in the heart of Tofino BC. Our little shop has been open since July 2nd 2023. This space was created to give owners an opportunity to shop curated dog goods locally. While we carry quality kibble, our focus is on small brands that you might not be able to find in bigger pet stores.

~ FAQ:

Why "Bad Dog"
The name Bad Dog comes from the stigma Bully Breeds & Rescue dogs face everyday. Since opening it has become our mission advocate for bully breeds. You will find our logos all drawn up from bully breeds in our lives, past and present. Each one of these dogs have inspired us to always advocate for the breed and rescue dogs alike.

"What are Pup Cups"
Since opening our shop in July 2023, we have offered our signature pup cups at the shop. Dog customers are offered one while they shop. This helps dogs be more comfortable in our space and its a fun way to meet new customers. These are offered at a suggested $1-$2 donation fee. Every two months we choose a different rescue to donate the funds too. Since opening we have raised over $1700 for different rescues.

"Can you groom my dog"
Unfortunately we are not set up for grooming! Or dog babysitting. While visiting Tofino, please come prepared with your dogs essentials. We do sell quality Shampoos, some brushes and other fun accessories. However we are not a grooming service or Doggy Daycare : )

A little more about owner/ operator Liz Mcinnes & Lennon ~

Lennon & I have lived together in Tofino since 2015. Lennon is from the CRD Animal Shelter in Victoria. Tofino has been my home since 2011 and I am so happy to be in such a beautiful, supportive dog community.

My love for dogs came at an early age. I grew up with rescue dogs from all over the Island. Lennon has been my first dog of my own. She has been full of sass, love and cuddles since we got her. She is 8, going on 9. Shortly after opening Bad Dog we found out she had Bone Cancer, which has lead to a leg amputation. Our little tripod is doing so good and we are so proud of her. We are thankful to have Dr. Jeff from Tofino Vet to help her through her journey. Lennon wants to welcome everyone to The Bad Dog Club and raise awareness around the harsh stigma of bully breeds dogs.

**Update ~ Lennon has peacefully passed the rainbow bridge in July 2024. We have adopted another tripod dog from Texas in her honour. To find out more about our new dog Shortcake, follow us on our socials, Instagram & Tiktok @baddogtofino

We honour and acknowledge the Tla-o-qui-aht territory and land we work and live on.
